Via ShopCity.com

MOUNTAIN VIEW, CALIFORNIA, JANUARY 11th, 2010 – The New Year promises to be a great year for businesses in Mountain View thanks to a new partnership between the Chamber of Commerce Mountain View and ShopCity.com.

ShopMountainView.com gives every local business a Facebook-like profile page that provides consumers with contact information, directions, hours, positive testimonials from satisfied customers, and accepted methods of payment. Local businesses now have the ability to connect with customers, improve business and better serve the community.

The most revolutionary aspect of the new website is the community marketplace. Every business in Mountain View can have an online storefront to list their products and/or services. Shoppers can browse through items, make purchases or reservations or simply make comments about the products and services of the participating businesses in Mountain View. All Chamber of Commerce Mountain View members will have enhanced profiles that include photos, descriptions and the ability to contact the business via email.

There will be more than 20,000 cities in the ShopCity network, including ShopNewYork.com, ShopBoston.com, ShopSF.com and ShopMiami.com. The Chamber of Commerce Mountain View is proud to announce that they are the first to adopt the platform. Oscar Garcia, President and CEO of the Chamber says, "The internet is helping level the playing field between large and small businesses.  ShopCity.com's ecommerce platform allows any size business in Mountain View to have an active worldwide ecommerce presence.  This really expands the idea of "shop local" and still supports our local economy."

"We are just ecstatic with the Chamber's vision for the service and the level of support they have provided. Our US headquarters is in Mountain View, and it's great that this business, which is all about local business, is getting its start right in our own backyard" said Colin Pape, founder of ShopCity.com. The Mountain View partnership will set the standard for other cities, including Fremont, Sunnyvale, and Pleasanton.
